Missouri’s Knights of Columbus have been in partnership with Missouri Special Olympics for over 30 years. Knights of Columbus, St. Robert Charter have been working directly with Laquey R-V School District’s Special Olympics Organization for over 10 years. 15,000+ athletes across Missouri are able to discover new strengths, abilities, skills, and success through the power of sports in Special Olympics. The Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities, better known as the local Tootsie Roll Drive, take up donations to raise money for this great program. The money raised by donations go towards contributions within local communities. Steve Hoffman and Adam Sadowski were pleased to be able to hand Laquey Special Olympics a check for over $550! Thank you so much for your valued partnership and generosity in allowing Laquey’s Special Olympics Program to reach out and benefit so many of our local youth!
Laquey Student Council would like to thank everyone who participated in our food drive. Our goal was to collect food for ten food baskets, but due to the number of generous donations, we were able to help thirty-two families in our district with a Thanksgiving Meal!
Just a reminder. Curbside meals will be available for anyone 18 and younger this Friday at the elementary gym doors. They will be available from 9-11. There is no cost for the meals.
We will have a WCC bus next Monday and Tuesday. It will be leaving at 8:15am.
Laquey Student Council is proud to coordinate with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks to host a blood drive on November 30, 2020 at Laquey High School. This blood drive is open to the public. Appointments are strongly encouraged to help us manage donor flow. Please call 417-227-5006 or visit www.cbco.org/donate-blood to schedule your appointment. Photo ID and masks will be required. High school students (age 16+) who wish to donate can sign up with Mrs. Marlin. Our goal is to schedule at least 35 donors. Contact Mrs. Marlin at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.

In honor of "World Kindness Day," the Laquey Student Council would like to recognize Laquey 5th Grader, Michael Jones, for his inspiring random act of kindness. When Michael heard about the Student Council Thanksgiving Food Drive, he decided to use the birthday money he recently received to buy food donations for the food drive. It was more important to him that he help a family in need from our community than to spend his birthday money on himself. We hope Michael's random act of kindness will encourage everyone to do something nice for someone, not just for today, but every day.
The students and staff of the Laquey School District would like to thank all of our Veterans that are serving or have served our country. We have put together a virtual Veterans Day assembly and encourage you to take some time and watch it. Thank you and Happy Veteran's Day. https://youtu.be/KG1GSggBDaE
